Embryo freezing by vitrification

When you undergo fertility treatment, whether it is IVF or ICSI, more embryos might develop than you actually need to use in the transfer. Any embryos left over can be cryopreserved in the embryo bank to be used later on in future attempts.

Although freezing might reduce the viability of the embryos, our pregnancy success rate using thawed embryos is reaching that obtained with transferring fresh embryos. This is due to the fact that we use a freezing technique called “vitrification” that has one big advantage over conventional forms of freezing, namely, the survival rate of the embryos once thawed is better and therefore improves the pregnancy success rate, which in our case is over 40%.
